Metro Station – ‘Metro Station’

The band’s family link to Miley Cyrus will either instantly put you off this band or excite you immensely. For those of you who are over the age of 15, I ask you to hold back your negative judgments before you take a listen.

Adding to the huge list of bands creating success through MySpace, Metro Station have a huge fan base already (mostly girls it seems, I must add). Over the past few months it would have been hard for anyone not to have heard the band’s debut single ‘Shake It’ with its ridiculously catchy pop rock chorus. Listening to the album through for the first time, it is clear every track follows suit. With each song being more memorable than the last, it is a definite hairbrush-in-font-of-mirror album for any wannabe rock star.

If lead singer Trace Cyrus’ good fashion sense and pretty, fringe covered face wasn’t enough to persuade you to like Metro Station, his voice which appears to be more of a whisper, is definitely original to say the least. Along with this and the generic but totally captivating pop rock tunes, it is a winning combination. Go on, admit it, you’re singing along right now aren’t you?
